Job opportunity – Research Associate: Lancet-Chatham House Commission on Population Health (part time, fixed term)

Posted: July 15, 2020 By:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced researcher to contribute to and co-ordinate a new Lancet Commission – The Lancet-Chatham House Commission on Improving Population Health post-COVID-19.

The Commission is co-chaired by Professor Theresa Marteau and Professor Harry Rutter (University of Bath). The aims of the Commission are to map the shared drivers of pandemic protection, population health, and environmental sustainability, and develop a framework to identify key actions to drive equitable, sustainable improvements in human and planetary health.

This role requires academic and organisational skills coupled with knowledge of policy-making in national and international contexts. Content knowledge of one or more of these areas is also desirable: population health, behaviour change and environmental sustainability.

The successful candidate will work closely with Professors Theresa Marteau (University of Cambridge) and Harry Rutter (University of Bath) to conduct research into the topic of the Commission, including literature reviews and data analysis, and write both academic papers and reports for non-technical audiences.

The post holder will also provide excellent organisational support for the Lancet-Chatham House Commission including liaising with the Commissioners to arrange meetings and organising a range of scientific meetings. This will involve liaising closely with Chatham House and the Wellcome Trust.

Closing date 28 July 2020
